With every odd stare directed his way, Camo would curl into himself, reluctant to interact with the world beyond his bubble. By the time his mother had fallen to the plague, his father was long gone, and no other possessions had been left to the hatchling than a large three-headed plushie and an empty den isolated from the clan in Murkburrow Close.

All on his lonesome, Camo sought comfort in the only thing he had. Buttoned eyes stared soullessly ahead, regardless of how it was poked and prodded. In the back of his mind, Camo recalled that it was fashioned bearing likeness to the great Emperor of legends, Luminax. Historical stories had always intrigued him, the story of Luminax being no exception - thus on his own, Camo had buried himself in ancient stories, spiralling into catacombs of knowledge, branching into a million tunnels of secrets to explore and uncover. Night and day meant nothing to a dragon of such fierce curiosity, soaking knowledge like a sponge and spitting it back out in rapid response to his long-standing best friend, the Luminax plushie. As he grew from a hatchling, his habits persisted, conversations becoming harder to follow as the words that filled his mind like an endless sky of stars dotted his sentences incomprehensibly. The looks of those who considered him deranged for engaging in such long thorough conversations with an inanimate object bounced uselessly off his hide and eventually, they ignored him altogether, pushing him to the outskirts of their clan. Those who sought after a piece of his knowledge were quickly driven away and petty hate crimes pelted his den in revenge for his oddness.

Once Camo was of age, he vowed he would leave, chasing the legend of Luminax, a monstrous being said to exist in the domain of Light. With his one constant friend at his side, he took flight in the night to a realm holding all things bright, pursuing a dream of knowledge and betterment. A place that would accept him and his friend, who wasn't quite as soulless as one might think.
