“if you believe the weak will remain weak, look again when they are no longer forced to rely on others...” about haunted by nightmares and chronic pain, not even in a new form may edelgard find escape. though at first she was uneasy of the Snow Den -- after all, it is not everyday that you are reborn into an entirely new form with new rules and laws -- she quickly became one of the highest ranked officials that exist. many saw her as an outsider, rigid and determined to "carve her own path", yet thorn Saw through it all. time and time again, she would reassure both edelgard herself and others that this is where she was meant to be. where she can finally let loose, where she can learn in a world without the restrictions of her original Source. despite her high rank, she seemingly has no plans to take the title of Speaker just yet. after all, to hear the voice of the Caregiver is a burdensome task -- and edelgard seems completely content with where she is right now. (if you were to poke and prod for a true response however, the best you'd get is some ramble about wishing for a "world without gods" -- whatever that means.) “to put an end to bloody history, someone must stand up, even if some call it self-righteous.” 
“my progress cannot be stopped, no matter how many people try.” personality edelgard, though rigid and stoic, is by no means cold. she cares greatly for those who align with her cause, but is not one to be merciful to those on the opposing side of the battlefield. she seeks out change, treating her current predicament more as a hands-on experience to train than anything else. her charm and wit are practically unmatched (perhaps only outcharmed by merlin himself) but this doesn't deter her. and yet within it all lies her true nature -- frail and eager to seek a brighter future, but terrified of what it might hold should she fall.
