______ He left it all behind, a dead mate, vanished parents, two children that died unnamed. Grandchildren that went to see their lords too soon and great-grandchildren he would never meet. And so he left his ruined halls to their shadows and brambles, left behind the glow of mushrooms in the gloom and the Tanglewood's tricks.

______ But still it tried to hold him. The past reached out like bramble song, like troubled mists against his chest, staining the white bandages that sheileded him. Thorns wrapped around his legs, climbed his shoulders and twined around his wings, bring the noise of child's laughter and the smell of better days.

______ It wasn't enough to hold him there, not even The Shadowbinder herself could have dogged those footsteps. And so the brambles gave up their roots and went with him, a reminder. And on his way he met a stranger, a strangler flushed with the bloom that would bring its dying days. Eventually they came to Gather and Tiamat bid them stay.

______ And now he'll never leave here till the Shadowbinder calls his name.
