Watcher

When Watcher was young, he suffered a near death experience after falling into a river. Though resuscitated, he seemed to bring something back with him - the ability to commune with the dead. Through the years he learned to understand them, developing a secretive method of communication with them through the use of an old pack of cards.

As he grew, he found himself being sought out by spirits pleading for his assistance - particularly in solving crimes. Finding he had an aptitude for detective work, he began a career as an investigator. Through a combination of his own shrewd cunning and the assistance of the dead, he's built a respectable name for himself.

A recent calling has led him to Triptych, but the source and the reason remain unknown to him.
