B I O G R A P H Y

______ Kori was born in the deepest parts of the Rimebone Stockade, raised in some of the coldest areas of the Southern Icefield, ice running through his veins. He was forced to wear chains, a symbol of allegiance to those that raised him. Every year, they would shackle him, with great spikes driven into his wings, and cold metal clamped around his head. One day, he finally managed to crawl out of the freezer where he had been kept, and a worker found him and carted him off to a village in the Snowsquall Tundra, where they were able to get the majority of the chains and armor off, but large white scars were burned into his fur. One of the healers who helped him there was a young nocturne named Moon, and she took Kori in, bringing him all the way to the Kagenami Clan.

______ Once settled in his new home, Kori became restless. He was constantly cold, even when nearly burning himself by being too close to a fire. The large ice spikes and metal clamps never truly went away. Desperate, he one day set off on a journey to help ease his pain at last. He traveled to the Starwood Strand, where he learned the art of alchemy. He began working on all kinds of experiments, desperate for some way to stop this endless suffering. And then, one fateful night, as he looked to the stars, praying for any sign that the gods could hear him, a strange blue symbol appeared above his head. He heard the Icewarden's voice echo throughout his mind. "Cast your chains aside, young one, and bask in the warmth of my embrace"

______ It was the mark of the Icewarden, a blessing from the deity himself, Moon told him. Deep down, Kori knew his duty was to the Icewarden, that he must continue his research in the name of the Ice Flight, but he couldn't bring himself to leave the clan that had so graciously taken him in. So he agreed to be the Kagenami's Ice representative, working at the Frozen Sanctum in the presence of the Icewarden while still being able to pursue his dreams. Maybe someday, he could leave this bitter cold, and step forth into the light.
