B I O G R A P H Y

______ Abandoned by her parents as an egg, Kage was raised by a pair of spirals in the Murkbarrow Close. Since she was a nocturne, she was trained by her parents to go out into the surrounding forests to hunt for prey and herbs. What she lacked in speed and agility she made up for with her ability to see in pure darkness and attention to detail. As the Murkbarrow Close grew in population, there came a great amount of crime, small gangs of dragons constantly fighting for space and power within the city. Realizing this, Kage and her family tried to escape to the Foxfire Bramble, but her parents were caught in a fight just outside the city's borders, and Kage was barely able to escape with her life. Lost and alone, Kage wandered among the bramble for years without any light. It seemed as if all hope was lost, until one day she saw a faint blue light through the fog. It was a gloomwillow, an ancient acolyte of the Shadowbinder that was thought to be extinct. It called to her, and she chased it through the brambles and led her out into the world, coming upon the Sunportal. Suddenly, there was a blinding blue light, and Kage felt herself being sucked towards the towering stone arch.

______ Kage felt as if she was being suffocated by the darkness until suddenly she felt a great presence, and came face to face with the Shadowbinder herself. The deity looked at the nocturne and smiled as a large purple light engulfed the space. As Kage began to slip away, she heard the Shadowbinder's voice echoing throughout her mind. "Find comfort in the shadows, my child." she said. "Allow them to show you the light".

______ When Kage awakened, she was under the glowing arch of the Moonportal, overlooking the border between the Sunbeam Ruins and the Shifting Expanse. After spending a few days traveling, she came upon the Hewn City, where she met Aseneth. She agreed to come back to the Kagenami with him after telling him the story of how she saw the Shadowbinder. Being one of the only dragons who had come face to face with the Shadowbinder's magic for centuries and lived to tell the tale, she was made the Shadow representative of the clan. She moved into the Dusk Sanctum, where she conducts studies on various plants native to the Tangled Wood.
