_____________________________________________ BEGIN ♠ Once long ago, Shatter was an almost ordinary dragon. She was trained as a warrior and greatly skilled. But slowly, as her Sage powers awakened, she started to become more and more powerful than any around her. Soon, few could stand to her might and she left her homelands to find stronger opponents. She hunted the greatest of beasts and fought the strongest opponents and her pride grew. On her travels to the Boneyard, she heard rumors of a hive of odd dragon-like monstrosities. Believing herself invincible due to her powers she headed instead to take down a hive. Had the Hivemind been any regular beasts she would have been right. But they sought not to kill her but turn her into one of their own, a shattered and empty husk. They came in overwhelming numbers, intent to capture her. She fought fiercely but they proved to be too much. But her Sage powers proved too much for the assimilation fluid they injected into her. No matter how much they gave her, they couldn't transform her fully. Not properly connected to the wavelength, she boded her time until she could escape. And when she did, she was found by a traveling healer who was much like her. A victim of something cruel, transformed against their will. They became fast friends and later fell in love. And one day she said to him, "There should not be more tragedies like us. We should take a stand and fight against the forces that seek only to cause harm." And he replied, "But you are only one dragon and I am no fighter. We will need allies in this war you wish to fight." And so they set upon to create a network of resistance. |
