Biography

Soot is a mischievous young dragon who wandered from his (fairly negligent, from the sounds of it) fire clan all the way to the Icefields! He's somehow never clean, leaving sooty footprints in the snow wherever he goes, so it's easy to find him when he gets lost.

Soot is enthusiastic about freeing the Shade, and helps the Shades in the clan feel more comfortable around dragons--his mischief and delight stop for no one, no matter where they came from. Soot is deeply envious that Mayday is made of Shade-goop. He wants to be made of mud! Imagine the claw-painting!

There's been some debate about whether or not it's ethical to bring a hatchling on Greyscale missions, but Soot's fire-breath is invaluable in getting through the Fortress's ice walls, and he does really look forward to it, so . . . the child is allowed to keep doing crimes. For now.
