Biography
Though now an old man, Allhope was born under a different name, one he'd prefer be forgotten. He was a soldier for most of his life, notorious for having no mercy, carving a bloody path through the battlefield, whether he was fighting the beastclans or other dragons.
He was such an effective soldier that the Tidelord granted him the honor of faceted eyes, which lent him a blessing of magical armor to keep him from being deeply injured.
When the Tidelord disappeared and the water flight became less of a united front, Allhope was left without purpose. He took to roaming angrily, looking for a fight, but his reputation had grown too great for anyone but drunks to challenge him, and those were quickly dispatched.
It took him a long time to come to terms with who he was, without a fight to throw himself into. Allhope fell into a long depression, feeling distanced from himself, wishing for a greater distance from his past.
He spent many weeks on a raft over a deep stretch of ocean, grieving for the Tidelord, and for the person he used to be, who wouldn't feel such regret over all the pain he'd caused. All he saw were his own faceted blue eyes looking glassily back at him, his only remnant of his god and commander.
But no one can mourn forever. His drifting raft, upon which his frustration had turned to grief, was met by a dove, a sprig of green in its beak. It lighted on Allhope's shoulder without fear, and dropped the sprig at his feet. He hadn't realized how hungry he was.
It was that dove, and its fearless act of kindness, that gave Allhope new purpose. He steered his raft to land, and, inspired by the dove's gift, resolved to become a druid, a healer and bringer of hope. He trekked through Driftwood Drag, trading his armor for a simple cowl to hide his face, his eyes, and into nature territory, where the druids of the Everbloom Gardens accepted him as an apprentice.
Though at first put off by his scars, shadowed face, and refusal to discuss his past, even to the point of refusing to give them a name, they were eventually convinced to teach him by his bond with the dove and the soft sincerity of his voice. There, Allhope learned to bring life to the world around him, how to coax a flower into bloom and strengthen the bark of an ailing tree. He gratefully allowed the garden's flora to climb his scales, cover his soldier's scars and sink into him, roots and ivy paving the way for more delicate plants to trust him enough to unfurl from his wings and shoulders.
The druids of the Gardens draped a peacekeeping vest over his shoulders, and offered him the name Allhope, which he took gratefully. It was then that he left them, a small garden of his own on his back and a dove by his shoulder, to find those in need of hope. He walks Sornieth with a purpose now, bringing food, medicine, and shelter to those who need it.
