Smokescreen

Smokescreen was not really sure if she should be here. The invitation said anyone could interview with the royal family for a position, but she felt she was no one. She had little she could tell about her previous clan other than it was protected by the Matriarch and Broodmother herself, Shinra. That sounded great on paper but all it truly meant was that the clan bred as many plague babies as possible to either sell off the auction house for lair funds (or clothing funds) or to exalt to the plaguebringer. She had been bought by this clan but given no further instruction other than to tend to herself or interview if she wanted a role.

She approached the Queen and felt she was seen straight through. every doubt she had ever had was on display. Instead of making her feel like less, it made her hold her ground and straighten her back. She was protected by Shinra, and her line went back many generations. This clan was just reaching its third. Who were they to judge her? Her claws grew longer and her tail flicked in preparation for a fight.

Then the queen spoke.

"She will do nicely for you, Rise. She will bring color and courage to our line. She will fight for you and your children. Take good care of her if she accepts."

Live in the Sanctum? Be royalty? Wear fancy clothes and be pampered? Yes, that would do nicely.
