Biography
You open your eyes and stare at the entrance to a decrepit temple.
-How did I get here?- you think to yourself. You can't remember much, and your head feels heavy. You feel a presence hanging over your mind, drawing you towards the crumbling stone facade.
Your footfalls feel deafening as you step into the temple. It takes a moment for your eyes to adjust, but as they do you start to make out faint lights at the other side of the hall. Standing still, you can also hear what sounds to be shuffling and low whispering.
Against your better judgement, you continue forward. The lights appear to be candles, some burned almost all the way down. The presence in your mind grows more persistent.
You stop when you realize the shuffling figure is a dragon. Its feathered, serpentine form shifts slightly as it pours over a large tome, seemingly unaware of your intrusion. You take one more step and the crest on its head perks up as the beast turns towards you.
"How currrriousssss... an outsssssider..." it hisses, its movements and speech reminding you of a snake. You notice that its eyes are covered by its cloak.
The dragon curls its mouth in what you assume to be a smile. "I do not need eyesss to ssssee the truth. And you do not need to ssspeak for me to know what you thinkkkk."
"W-what is this place?" you stammer, taking a step back. Your eyes dart around, taking in the altar, the tome, and the dragon before you. You know you should leave, but you can't seem to tear yourself away.
The dragon lets out what you can only guess is a chuckle. It begins to speak in a language you do not understand. The jewels adorning its body clink as it moves, punctuating the unsettling speech. Its tongue flicks out for a moment before continuing in draconic. "Thisss placccce... it iss connected. There are more of ussss, I can feel it. The old onesssss are sssleeping but sssoon..." it pauses and inches closer to you. "Ssssoon our time will come, and we will risssse."
The dragon hisses and begins to speak into the tome, and shadows begin sprouting from the pages. You look on in horror as the scene unfolds before you.
You black out.
