Biography

Silas' "strangeness" began showing when we was a mere hatchling. He began picking up the thoughts and feelings of his fellow clan mates, often so loudly that they overwhelmed his own. No one believed him at first. His siblings were all normal, healthy dragons. Then, disaster struck and it became impossible to doubt the things Silas was experiencing. There was a cave in, blocking the entrance to where Silas' siblings and many of the clan's other hatchlings were kept. It took several days to shift all the rubble and by the time they did, several of the youngest and weakest, including all of Silas' siblings, were dead. The ones who remained were numb with terror, but all clearly repeated the same thing - that Silas had caused the cave in. Not knowing what to believe, Silas was removed from the others and placed in another cave by himself. Scared and angry, his powers began appearing without his control. He toppled rocks and led to the injury of one of his guards. The clan was forced to come to the horrible truth that Silas was too dangerous to be allowed to live among them.

He was permanently trapped in the cave so he couldn't do any damage to anyone other than himself. There, he grew to dragonhood, confused, lonely, and bitter. And it was in that state that Arizel found him. It did not take much convinced to bring Silas into the clan, but his inability to filter out others' thoughts and emotions, mixed with his dangerously uncontrollable telekenetic powers soon made Arizel realize that he would have to be "handled" if he was to stay in their clan. In time, Mae managed to devise a mixture of herbs that had some success neutralizing at least Silas' telekenetic abilities. He still was often overwhelmed by the rest of the clan's feelings, but now was not as much of a danger to them.

Unfortunately, Silas didn't find much more company with his new clan than with his old one. He only interacted with the others as needed and mostly kept to himself.
