═══════════════════════════════════════════ TIGER "Pay up or move along, hon. I haven't got all day." ═══════════════════════════════════════════ The beautiful Tiger is a sarcastic man with a dry sense of humor. Scars run down his back and across his thighs. His canines have both been replaced by sharp silver fangs and, in case it isn’t obvious, he got his name from the giant tiger tattoo on his back. What his name was before that is anyone’s guess and he’s not telling; real names aren’t important in this line of work. His upbringing wasn’t anything special. Both of his parents worked and weren’t around much, so Tiger basically raised himself. He was always a rebellious child and as he got older he and his parents constantly clashed. So, once he was old enough (and only just barely) to leave home he did. He didn’t really have a plan, just a desire to stretch his wings and find some excitement. Tiger’s first job was waiting tables in a dive bar. It wasn’t glamorous but the customers loved him and the tips were good. Good, but not enough to keep up with the insanely expensive rent he was paying for his nasty little apartment in the slums of Neo Necropolis. So, eventually, he had to turn to other means in order to pay the bills. Looking back if he could do it all over again he would have never gotten himself involved with Novak. The man fancied himself as Chaka’s rival seeing as the two were technically in the same line of business, but really he was hardly a blip on the man’s radar. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t dangerous and it was because of him that Tiger’s life was turned upside down. Though he was working for him, the two were in an on again off again relationship (mostly off) and it wasn’t pretty. Any time they’d break up and Tiger would try to move on Novak would run the poor men off with threats of violence. Then, before you knew it, they were back together because Tiger was weak and craved peace over conflict. But even he had his breaking point and after a particularly nasty fight he broke up with Novak once and for all. In a rage, Novak threatened Tiger and scared him badly enough for him to run into the arms of Walter Chrome, a private detective. They knew each other before this as Walter was a regular in the dive bar where he used to work and even though Tiger didn’t care much for cops or detectives, Walter was alright. He actually tried to help people, searching for missing loved ones long after the police had given up the search. Frightened and alone, Tiger begged Walter to help him and unsurprisingly he did, allowing him to stay there with him as long as he needed. There was no way he was going to the cops. They wouldn’t help him anyway. No, he had to get out of town for a while, give Novak time to cool off and come around. “He wants to scare me into being with him,” Tiger sniffled, brushing the tears from his eyes quickly, “But I won’t go back. No way. I’ll find some other two-bit criminal to work for. The city is full of’em.” During his stay with Walter and emotions high, the pair were dangerously close to forming a romantic relationship. The timing was all wrong, the circumstances even worse, but you can't help your feelings and Tiger was definitely feeling something more than friendship. If Walter felt the same way it wasn't clear. The man was a pro at hiding what was on his mind, but there was a certain softness there he'd never seen Walter offer anyone else. Neither one of them could have guessed just how serious Novak’s threats were. He was always like this when they broke up, furious, mean, controlling. But since Tiger was serious this time so was he. Unbeknownst to them, Novak was plotting to be rid of Tiger once and for all. If he thought for a second that he could just leave and go work for someone else, well he was sorely mistaken. Just like that Novak had sold him off to some seriously nasty people who were very excited to have someone like Tiger in their claws. They snatched him during the night, his screams silenced by the tape slapped over his mouth. He was only out of Walter’s sight for a moment but that was all they needed. Who these men were and what they did to him is too gruesome to describe. It was nothing short of a miracle that he escaped, but not without the scars on his body and soul. Actually, it was an old friend of his who’d found him and gotten him out of there. Someone he met working with Novak, a client actually with a soft spot for him and the connections to find him. Rather than keeping Tiger there in the city where he wasn’t safe, he was passed on to an old acquaintance of his named Tomi who’d set up shop in the Wasteland. A nice place called The Velvet Fang where he was now going by the moniker ‘Big Boss’. It wasn’t an easy transition. For a long time Tiger neither spoke nor came out of his room. There wasn’t any pressure, of course. Big Boss knew the whole story, every horrible detail and he treated Tiger with the care and patience he needed. Gogo was the first person to make a dent in the wall he’d built to protect himself. His relentless kindness and willingness to engage in one sided conversation helped Tiger to feel like a person again. These days Tiger is much more like his sarcastic and dry self again. Naturally, he’s still healing, many of the men who work here are. It helps to have people around you with similar experiences and to know you’re safe, that no harm can come to him anymore. One day he will reach out to Walter, let him know that he’s okay and that he still thinks about him all of the time. Who knows, maybe they can meet face to face here in The Velvet Fang. Nothing would make him happier. • Tiger’s best friends in the Fang are Gogo, Azizi, and the ‘magic twins’ Razzle and Dazzle. • He’s got several other tattoos including a sleeve of roses on his left arm. • Alongside Azizi, Gogo, the twins, Lio, and Milkshake, Tiger is one of the most popular boys in the Fang. • Like Azizi and Gogo, Tiger is trans. • Though they're far apart at the moment, he still has feelings for Walter. Perhaps he's even holding out a tiny sliver of hope that they might see what they were missing in the future. | x |
