Azar is the nimble-fingered tailor of the Southwind Clan. He just loves to fiddle with small things, especially such things as sewing complex patterns. Another thing he loves is to suggest new clothes for whoever happens to be in his presence. But it's never in a mean-fashioned manner; he's just so full of ideas! The only one he doesn't give suggestions for clothes is his mate Giselle. Because he thinks of her being perfect in every way.

He's fascinated by and easily excited if presented with any type of cloth, thread or pattern he hasn't seen before. Should a traveler stay at the lair for a short time before they continue on their journey, he often tries to ask them where they had gotten their clothes and who the tailor is who. Giselle gently lets him know if he's bothering the traveler too much and he always listens to her when she tells him to stop.

No matter if a dragon wants lighter clothes, warmer clothes, finer clothes or casual clothes, Azar is the dragon to ask. While he may not be able to re-create it completely, he has seen quite a lot of cultures and their clothing to be able to somewhat re-create clothes from a certain Flight if someone asks for it.

DHWuX52.png Born at the Magma Sanctum of the Ashfall Waste, Azar was born in a Clan of researchers and scholars. But the young Wildclaw realized that he didn't want to follow in the path of his parents or his Clan in general. He wanted to create things. More specifically, he wanted to make clothes.

While his parents weren't thrilled that their son didn't want to follow in their footsteps, they didn't discourage him and actually helped him find what he needed to start practicing sewing. Soon enough he had created a variety of.. almost wearable clothes. His parents remained supportive and encouraged him to keep improving. So he continued to improve his skills. Eventually, as he grew older and became better at using his hands, he started to produce more and more beautiful and intricate clothes.
But the Wildclaw eventually realized that many dragons at the Sanctum didn't exactly need clothes or had any interest in fashion in the slightest. There was also very little inspiration for him there and few dragons to discuss his interest with. How did dragons dress out in the world? How would they dress for the different environments he had heard about? These questions eventually led him to leaving his Clan behind to travel the world and see what kind of inspiration the world had to offer.

At first he travels all the way east to admire the giant lightning spires of the Shifting Expanse, then traveled north to visit the Sunbeam Ruins. He admired the gardens of the Viridian Labyrinth and eventually ended up in the rocky expense of Dragonhome. While passing by Cairnstone Rest, he was allowed to rest in the lair of one of the Clans residing in the area. That was were he met Giselle. She was a lot older than him, but he quickly found himself himself attracted to the jovial and sweet Snapper. The more time he spent in her presence, the more he fell in love with her. But he couldn't stop here. There was still so much of the world he hadn't seen, so much he had to experience before he could settle down. His joy was indescribable when Giselle decided to follow him.

As the Snapper was incapable of flight and was nowhere as agile as Azar, it slowed down the journey considerably. But her joining him only made the journey even more enjoyable for the Wildclaw. They grew closer for each day they spent in each other's company as they traveled the world at their own pace.

Eventually, the two of them ended up at the jagged string of mountains known as the Cloudscrape Crags of the Southern Icefields and was allowed to stay with the Southwind Clan. Azar was immediately fascinated by the clothes the various dragons of the Clan was wearing despite the chilly environment outside their lair. He also learned that the Clan didn't really have a tailor to provide the dragons with clothes, and that the Clan often traded with a nearby Centaur village that could provide them with interesting cloths not produced by dragons. This all led to Azar decided that he wanted to remain in the Southwind Clan as their tailor.

At first he felt bad for deciding to stay; when he had first met Giselle, he felt that he couldn't settle down yet. And now he decided to settle down on the opposite side of the world from where her home was. But Giselle calmed his worries. Her home was wherever he was.

While some might find them to be an unlikely pair due to their difference in both age and appearance, Azar adores Giselle and wouldn't want to spend a day away from her. In his eyes, no one is as perfect as she is.

Trivia:
  • Azar absolutely adores his mate Giselle. He proudly wears his star-shaped earrings, which matches the ones Giselle wears, as proof of their love.
  • Despite being rather inept with Fire magic, he is as warm as a furnace no matter the temperature around him. This leads to some dragons, especially his mate and any hatchlings that may be around, loving to cuddle up to him during especially cold nights.
