Hecate

Hecate's parents were Jaa the Fae of the Ice flight, and Dexter the Tundra of the Nature flight. She was born in an ancient lair deep within the Hellwell Undercroft. Because she spent her formative years listening to the tales of war from the many nomadic clans that came through, and often witnessing those wars themselves, Hecate grew up in a world where death was her life. She helped her mother in the infirmary, patching up wounds and administering treatments, but she also trained with her father, learning how to harness and channel the Plague magic in her surroundings to use against her foes in her own struggle for survival. It was soon clear to Jaa that his daughter was more gifted than himself, and he began to resent her. Likewise, Hecate could not see how her mother, a Nature dragon, was truly helping anyone with her herbal remedies. This was the Scarred Wasteland, not the Viridian Labyrinth. To become dependent on medicine to survive was to become weak; it went against everything they stood for. For this reason she refused to work with her any longer. She was old enough now to choose her own path in life anyhow, and she was done leaning on her parents. That same day, all hell broke loose. A regular clan meaning devolved into a bloodbath when dragons of the Wyrmwound challenged those of Quarantine Zone #128 about their right to perform their virulent experiments. Suddenly, she found herself fighting for her life alongside an unfamiliar Guardian and a young Spiral. They worked together surprisingly well, considering they had never met before, and when the Guardian suggested they leave this life together, she agreed.

In the Starfall Isles she met Frost, a soft-spoken nervous Fae of the Ice flight, and bullied him into breeding with her. They had two sons, Shaman and Chant, but both left home for the Sunbeam Ruins. That was fine, as Chant reminded Hecate too much of Frost, and Shaman was a bit of a disappointment.

She later mated with a Mirror and had four hatchlings, Flameclaw, Ryoko, Spectre, and Abraxas. She'd had high hopes for Spectre, who seemed to take after her, but she, like her siblings, also left home. Abraxas was exalted.

In the end, Hecate prefers the company of Bloodbane, though not in a romantic sense. Together they rule their little army of miscreants, and strike fear into neighbouring clans.
