Biography
“Meeting me under cover of night again?”
May turned her head towards Sirius. “Last time I checked, it was you that approached me.”
“Yet you’re here,” Sirius remarked, a mirthful little smile on his face. May raised her frills, a smile joining the movement. “That was a very funny trick, making the eggs we created disappear like that.”
“You wouldn’t have liked the children within them. They’re not the harbingers you’re looking for,” May hummed, cautiously stepping closer. Sirius’ tail swished erratically behind him, and he stood haunches upon bony legs. May puffed her small body up further. “But I think your power does introduce something else to my dreadful line, so do hear me out before you start trying to claw my eyes out.”
Sirius chuffed indignantly, but after a moment he took a step back and inclines his head. “Very well, my fair lady. What is it then that you have noticed?”
“Somehow, your own magic twists mine to create children that well... Nullify everything else," May starts, lowering her crests as she searches for a way to explain her thesis."I've seen it happen to more normal dragons, sure, you wouldn't find that very interesting I imagine. But what perked my interest is Betelgeuse. Your first child."
"Our child," Sirius remarked. May's crests rattled slightly, her brow furrowing. "Right. Go on?"
"When he is around others, especially those specifically chosen by their gods, their powers are not just sapped, but they seem to grow sicker with the moment. Somehow, it touches even the power of the gods," she says, bringing a claw up to tap against her cheek. "It's very curious."
Sirius begins to nod slowly, his shoulders squaring further. "So tell me then witch," he says, lips twisting slightly as he fights a smirk. "What is it you want from me?"
May's brow knits together further, but she meets his smirk with one of her own. "Humor me. Let's collaborate a few more times. I will send you something back later." She tilts her head. "Find out what creates a true monster."
It's just about dawn when he watches her fly away. This time, he's sitting with eggs that have bioluminescent patches on their shell. Shadowkind, one being taken by May and the rest with Sirius. He runs his claws along them. "She'll undoubtedly be back," he murmurs to himself, tapping against one egg. The dragon within raps back. He grins. "I think you'd have much more fun causing havoc on your own than when I keep you here," he whispers as he lifts his head. "Helena?"
A spiral in deep green oversized robes perks up her head from some crates in another tent. "Yes da- Lord Sirius?" She says, hastening to sit down by him. At this point she might as well trip up and call me father, he thinks.
"Deliver these to whatever notable clan you can find, either in secret or as a... Gift," he starts, putting an egg in her claws. "Say it's an ambassador. It is of no importance to me where you leave them."
Helena nods mutely, her eyes wide with amazement. "As you wish. I'll do my best."
"I know," Sirius says, laying a tentative hand on her hand before he promptly dumps the other two eggs into her arms. "And good luck-" He barely has time to see her off before she rockets up into the sky, leaving a cloud of sand and dust where she had been.
