Cecelia

Mankind considers martyrs virtuous and holy people. They are the best of our society, willing to fight for something so passionately that they end up dead. People who are burned for their beliefs become saints. People who fight wars until they die with a sword through their neck are buried as heroes. Dragons and people aren’t the same, though. Dragons are selfish things by nature with hoards of gems and treasures and objects many would find useless. One could argue that this applies to humans as well. In many cases, it does. But for every selfish human, there are 30 selfish dragons. This is a fact that most of dragonkind will not argue with. The few dragons who are occasionally selfless are so in small amounts. Perhaps a dragon will share some food with their friend who has none. Or a dragon may take some time out of their usual schedule to help a friend set up their new den. When a dragon does something that could be considered martyrdom, though. That’s something extremely strange. But Cecelia had never been normal.

Dragonet hood flew by quickly for Cecelia.
