Hidden Horror

Using a special blend of luminous fungi and toxins from a frog, Aescul makes a dye with which they paint themselves. Under sunlight, the dye is impossible to detect as it’s the same color as their regular stripes. But when night falls, Aescul glows an unearthly green-yellow. Aescul takes great pains to make sure to paint themself with disorienting swirls and streaks. From a distance, they look like some awful monster stalking through the trees. Up close, the confusing patterns and their sinuous way of moving often leave observers nearly hypnotized.
