The masked Wildclaw laughs, the crowlike monster on his shoulder eyeing Fletcher with venom-green eyes.
"Way to be direct, Skydancer," He drawls. "I'll tell you a secret, I s'pose- though it's not much my own, it's a dark one alright. In fact, it's one that you might call treason."
He leans in close, lowering his voice slightly. "There's a rebellion in my Clan- firebrands, they're called. They plan to strike by the next Starfall Celebration, if not sooner- and rumor has it that even some of the matriarch's descendants are in on it. They're mad at the way the Clan's run, see- mad that Belladonna and her chosen few get the run of the clan, while the others fight over the scraps."
"Most of the 'brands are the younger dragons- the ones who're willing to stand up and fight back- but they've got some council members on their side, too. A fair amount of the unprivileged dragons are open to the idea of change- but only a dozen or so dragons are actually in the rebellion- too many and the old guard- what they call Belladonna's supporters- would find out, and that'd be bad for all'f us."
Though Ronan was trying not to give away what side he was on, his knowledge of the topic and his tone makes it clear to an observant listener that he was in favor of the rebels, if not a rebel himself.
"The leaders are pretty sure that if-" He stuttered for a moment, about to say something else- "If they actually- sorry 'bout that, I'm not the best at tellin' stories- if they actually get a revolt going, then at least another dozen dragons will fight alongside them."
"But I've gone on for too long- it's time someone else spins a tale."
Ronan's startlingly orange eyes fix upon you. "What about you, traveler? I can see you're travel-worn and weary- who are you fleeing? Why are you running away?"
