Elk Pelt Roussel, the Trapper

As the oldest of her clan, Roussel is valued for both her age and her wisdom. Though she acts as an advisor on many issues, the subject of her own past is kept strictly to herself. Most of her peers have long given up on trying to figure out where she came from before joining this clan, though it has been a long time since she showed any signs of wanting to leave this icy lair for somewhere warmer.

Within the lair, she is rarely seen without her mate Eyraud, who seems insistent on following her all day. Emphasis on day, because at night, she's on trapping duty. With the help of Papin, Roussel makes and sets a variety of traps all around the lair. They have to be checked and repaired frequently, and she has learned how to make the most of them, making her a valuable gatherer despite her wings having been damaged beyond repair.

The spoils go, first and foremost, to any of her own hatchlings, should any be available or be with her on the trap-patrols. She is overbearing and dangerously protective when it comes to her offspring and even the guardians of the clan who have tried to talk her out of this behaviour have since come to regret that request. Others' hatchlings? Bah. Why would they be of interest?
