Gaudia Clan Leader, Lair Administrator Hex: #90cb86 #dde7ad #ceab55 #348d60 #c73381 |
Leader of the unnamed clan. She partially represents the counterpart of me in the lore world. A hardworking Fae who spends most of her day managing things that are administrative in nature. She is an exceptionally powerful Wind mage, though seldom displays her abilities, and is more interested in learning new and uncommon magic practised by other dragons. Loves a good book to read, and would write one herself had she the talents of a good writer. |

"I have finally requested other dragons for assistance. I should have expected doing all this paperwork alone will soon tire even the mightiest of dragons."
[WIP, may change drastically]
Gaudia hatched from a Wind egg in Zephyr Steppes of unknown origins. When she received the blessings of the Windsinger, she was already alone. She has no recollection of her parents nor the dragons who have raised her into adulthood. With the blessings of a deity, she traversed out of Zephyr Steppes and through the tranquil atmosphere of Singer's Brook, before reaching the Reedcleft Ascent. The challenges that the area provide was enough to fill the small Fae with curiosity, and she ventured to its depths, not knowing the dangers ahead. She had not a proper guide and her size almost made her fly by unnoticed by other residents.
She then found a wide gap between pillars of rock. Her wind magic was enough for her to push against the rushing winds the past few jumps, but this time, it was not enough. Gaudia was swept away by the air current and fell downwards, struggling to not fall into the rapids below. After several seconds of suspense, she gathered all the wind magic and propelled herself to one side, reaching a clearing where the wind was finally still. She seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, on a ground much lower than the pillars surrounding it, almost seemingly hidden from the rest of the plateau. The land is fertile and she could feed off the insects that thrive and nest within the reeds. She was now temporarily isolated from the rest of Sornieth, and had to gather her energy again before challenging the air currents to get out. The sky, however, was growing darker. Having no choice, she sought for a nearby shelter. There was a very old structure that looked like shelter for venturing dragons from ancient times, and with a bit of dusting and polish, the green and yellow Fae could find shelter within. As she was finishing the last touches and decorating the insides with some bamboo, another dragon arrived in the same location.
A large, dark green Guardian dragon had found his was into the same area. However, he was huge in size, and was able to utilize that to his advantage in resisting and navigating through the air currents. He is also blessed by the Windsinger and wields basic wind magic, but strong enough to repel the air currents. He saw the tiny Fae flying about in the huge open building. She noticed the large dragon, but did not sense any hostility from him, so she did not bother. The Guardian spoke, with a rather low voice, "Small one, are you perhaps lost in the Reedcleft Ascent?" Gaudia zoomed past the dragon to get more lair decorations, and without looking at the dragon, replied with a monotonous voice, "Well, are you lost?" Slightly started by such a response, he replied, "N-no, I am just... wandering around the area." There was silence for a brief moment, before the large dragon started again, "My name's Gardien." He was replied with "Gaudia," immediately after his reply. She zoomed past him again and decorated the last corner of the place, before approaching the Guardian that had been standing there for minutes. She fanned her crests as she observed the giant in front of her, before she questioned, "I know a bit about Guardian dragons. Who or what do you protect?" Gardien was in awe at her knowledge and observation skills. He answered, "Nobody yet. Hence my venturing, to seek my purpose in this world." The Fae then turned back and started building a small roost one one corner of the structure, magically curing gathered tree sap into golden amber. The land provided almost not enough sap, but it was enough for her size. "Perhaps you could, for now, make yourself useful by keeping watch over this building for one night," she remarked, then yawned and rested. Though she did not say those words with much weight, to Gardien, it seemed that his search was over. "Yes, I can help watch over this place for you."
What was supposed to be one night in an abandoned place, turned into many nights in home. Eventually, the Guardian broke down a section the smaller rooms to make space for him to rest within as well. Gardien's giant wings sheltered Gaudia and together they explore the depths and mysteries of the Reedcleft Ascent, encountering both kinds of dragons and other creatures, friendly and hostile. Gaudia soon opened up to Gardien and accepted him as her guardian, then eventually as her partner for life. After some time, they decided to form a clan, even if there's just two dragons. At first, they couldn't think of a good name, but as time passed, both dragons decided they don't need a clan name. They were then ready to start a new adventure across Sornieth, and would would learn a whole lot more about the world.
