Junji is a dragon. I mean...we're pretty sure he's a dragon. He says he doesn't remember not being a dragon.

Regardless, he's an astronomer that lives in the heart of Calpernum. Adept at mapping the stars, if somewhat peculiar. When dragons have yet to leave Sornieth, one might wonder the purpose of a job like Junji's. But in truth, all of Sornieth itself relies on studying the stars!
Cataloging the stars and their orientation has a variety of purposes. For one, it's how sailors navigate the seas when there are no landmarks around. It also comes in handy for determining upcoming weather, so he and Noelle are co-workers, as well as friends. Space also has many ties to the Arcane flight, meaning Archeologists like Cairo can gain understanding about arcane artifacts through understanding the stars.

Most of Junji's other friends are fellow scientists and studious types, such as Hawthorne, Leima, and Wheeljack.

Recently, Chanterelle has been an object of curiosity and camaraderie alike. It would seem the cordyceps that infects Chanterelle has no effect on Junji, even under circumstances that would allow it to spread.
