Dog's name: Zuzu
Grew up with his sister and single father. Saw his mom less and less as he got older. Didn't have the most stable childhood since his dad wasn't very responsible and his mom was a deadbeat. Basalt was that type of kid to act out in class for attention, secretly hoping his mom would care enough to visit if only to scold him. Later as an older teen he finally had a face to face conversation with her. It more or less ended with her telling him he and his sister were much better off without her and to 'just not try.'
It left him a little bitter.
Has his old man's laid back attitude and has always had a close relationship with him. 'Hard work is good but first take care of yourself.' is a fair motto to have but Basalt tends to take it a little too lackadaisical. He only took a job as a perimeter guard because he knows not much gets past the FIRST set of guards and whatever does is usually put off by his size alone. Otherwise, he's not much use in a fight.
Fishing? Well that's the only activity he fully loves, might as well get paid for it.
His yorkie dog is his Charge and he loves her so much and if anyone scares her even as a joke he will LOSE IT.
