She'd been alone with her work for years, now. The golden observatory, its glass eye forever trained on the night sky above, was not nearly so grand as the Arcanist's own. Despite this, despite the opportunity to move elsewhere, Altair remained.

The lonely astronomer in the gilded observatory atop the hill.

Others in her field have questioned this- she would surely be better served at the Arcanist's side, peering through the Eye of Many Lenses. What they don't realize is that Altair has a love even greater than science and star charts.

No- Altair stays for one reason alone. Her beloved Vega, stardust and arcane power made living. The ethereal dragon comes down from her perch in the heavens but once a year, leaving her constellation behind to take the form of a living, breathing creature.

For Vega, her love... she'll stay as long as it takes to see her again.
