Jax is technically nobility as one of the children of the High Lord and Lady of Nosirest, but he was never in any sort of running to be heir. With plenty of siblings ahead of him with stronger claims to being heir, Jax struggled to forge a sense of identity. As soon as he was able, he bid his parents farewell and took to travelling across the lands in search of a sense of purpose.

Instead, Jax found Cygnus. He bumped into the other crow while travelling and fell head over heels. It was a bit of a shock honestly, as Cygnus is so very different from Jax himself. Where Jax was refined and polite, Cygnus was loud and cheerful. Where Jax was fierce and furious, Cygnus was clearly not much of a fighter. There was something brash and unabashed that Jax admired in the other crow, and so it was surprisingly easy to ask to keep in contact out of a sense of curiosity.

Now Jax has been dragged into one of the sillest clans on this side of Sornieth, such a different environment from that of his youth as to be incomparable. And yet, Jax wouldn't have it any other way.

Jax saw Cygnus on his travels and immediately fell head over heels. It certainly did not help that the first thing Cygnus did was offer to share his sweets and laugh when Jax made a face at a sour candy. Jax found Cygnus to be incredibly easy to talk to, something that seldom happened to him. They kept n contact until Jax finally asked Cygnus on a date, surprising the other crow immensely. No one who meets them understands at first why they're together, but the love that they share is very real.

Friend 		Sometimes Akakia, who is the second in command fo the clan, just hurls himself onto Jax's couch and complains for hours on end. Even though Jax is dating Cygnus, he sympathizes with the general insanity that Akakia protects the clan from on a daily basis and keeps the poor crow well supplied with tea and snacks during these impromptu sessions. Jax actually does enjoy Akakia's company as he actually gives very sensible advice, a scarce resource in their clan.
