Zodiac: Aquarius Pronouns: He/They Apep is a very calm dragon. Others are intimidated by his breed and his demeanor, but he simply just wants friends. He was close with Glacier due to their breeds (she left the clan a moon or so ago), but wishes to befriend Orpheus and perhaps their snarky little friend, Toxin. Apep is also the clan's main familiar befriender. On one particularly cold and windy night, Apep found themselves searching for warmth. He shared a nest with another gaoler, Shagbark, and without much thought in their sleepy state was nestling his maw into the soft warmth of the other gaoler's shaggy fur. When they awoke the next morning, Apep felt hot embarassment lick up his spine as Shagbark had left. He pretended it had not happened for moons, and Shagbark seemed unbothered, but when another night eventually came it was Shagbark who quietly shuffled over and nuzzle into his side, breathing a fond sigh. It wasn't long afterward that they both made a habit of cuddling, though it wasn't spoken about; it felt fragile. Soon, they were both almost always seen together, Shagbark unabashedly following along with Apep and befriending familiars, and Apep not-so-discreetly following the latte-colored gaoler wherever he went. "So, you and Shag datin'?" Archspell casually asked one day, ushering a young imperial to befriend a sunspot clouddancer with his usual easygoing grin. Apep stiffened, accidentally scattering the feed for the patiently waiting harlequin stagwing in front of him. He bowed his head and apologized frantically, cleaning up his mess and finishing feeding the rest of the familiars before re-evaluating what he'd been asked. Uh, were they? He wasn't totally sure-- they acted like mates, but it hadn't been a official thing, he thinks. |
