Fire dragons are an uncommon sight within the Scarred Wasteland. Crossing the Sea of a Thousand Currents is a task that few dragons would undertake without a driving force behind them.

For Ash, that force was honor. Her family was accused of theft and forgery, stealing their competitors arms and armor to sell as their own. For an artisan, there is no greater insult, and to prove her family's skill, she set off on a course for Dragonhome in search of meteorite ore to craft into a truly unparalleled set of armor.

Unfortunately for her, fate had other plans. She, like so many others, fell victim to the virulent poisons of the Plaguebringer's domain and lapsed into delirium.

When she came back to herself, she was in the lair of the Clan of Bloodflies, being tended to by a solemn Corprus and Pylori... and leered at by a smug, triumphant Afzal. According to him, he had been the one to rescue her from the wastes, and he expected her to repay his act of kindness by becoming his mate.

Trapped in a web of debt and obligation, Ash was forced into a union with the tyrannical prince. Yet she has found one unlikely ally who has promised to help secure her freedom: The clan matriarch's own advisor, Sion.
