Lyra

Lyra was born to a wealthy couple of mercenaries, brutish dragons that slaughtered the foes of the rich for pay. As the only surviving egg, a heavy burden weighed on her shoulders to carry on the family business.
Unfortunately, she was born tragically ill and weak, which meant that she was not fit for the life of a mercenary. Though her parents were disappointed, they tried their best to take care of her. The state of their daughter caused a lot of tension, however, resulting in a messy divorce, complimenting their business as mercs for hire.

Lyra's father could not compete with his past lover. Soon, clients that once turned to both of them turned only to her.
Lyra's father fell into a deep depression and their wealth began drying out.

They were nearly at the bottom of their barrels when a mysterious figure rolled through the streets of their home, selling some sort of elixir that promised endless prosperity.
Lyra shilled over what little gold they had left, purchasing a vial for herself in hopes that it may strengthen her enough to support her father.

The elixir was not what it seemed, however.
It made her even more gravely ill than she was before, riddling her scales with rot and blackening her teeth.
Eventually, her heart stopped beating altogether, but her mind never let go. She soon came to realize that she was... reanimated death, a corpse walking among the living.

Now free of her ailments, she discovered a newfound strength and bloodlust.
When her father inevitably died, she took his garments and weapons, vowing to uphold his name.

She now works as a mercenary operating out of Wurmwuss. Her home is a humble little pile of wreckage from a pirate ship that crashed long ago.
