Biography
Primal Deity of Memory, Loss, and Forgiveness
He couldn't remember the last time he actually felt warm, or the last time he'd seen another dragon. Or.. anyone, for that matter. Suspended in a blue-black void, Polaris let out a breath, ice crystals floating out into the nothingness. How long had it been? Much.. much too long. Even his limbs had begun turning to frost.
He had to get home, get back to the surface, get back to...
where..?
The dragon paused, searching his memory. Nothing remained - not even a home to go back to. Past friends' faces blurred and shifted, their voices distorting and indiscernible. His own past was a mystery, except a haunting sensation. An instinctual feeling that he should not, in fact, even be alive.
It was true. He was freezing cold, out in the void. Ice had overtaken portions of him. How had he even ended up here, like this? Where was this place, even? A voice suddenly spoke to him, in his mind, as the image of a Skydancer composed of stardust and ancient bones appeared before him, smiling softly at him.
"You have been granted eternal existence among the Council of Stars - a pantheon outside of the surface realm. Your past was erased to spare you the pains of those left behind. We are not to interact with those on the surface.. at least, not physically,"
She explained calmly, bowing her head slightly
"I understand it's hard to process, but the threads of fate have spared you from your end. I simply act on their will. You are to become a new deity, dear one.. and I am here to help you on that path."
Polaris backed away, shaking his head. Not everything had been erased, and his heart ached immensely for the beings he couldn't remember fully. He didn't desire to follow the path given to him, despite it giving him new life. He wanted his old life. His old memories..
Flaring his wings, he took flight through the void, fleeing from the Skydancer as quickly as he could despite their frozen nature. Back down to the world below, back to the surface. He may not remember it, but his memories called to him. He would find those beings from his old life.. his old friends and home... and face whatever consequences that followed.
