Tailto grew up a bright, happy child. She knew what she wanted, who she wanted to be. She had her adoptive father, Reyson, she had her "brother" Jake. She knew she wanted to be a seer, she knew she needed to be a Pearlcatcher. All she had to do was make it happen.

Speaking with Rey-da about this caused a trip to a Harpy wind-witch in the Reedcleft Ascent, a brief meeting that would eventually spark a tight alliance between Phoenicis and the Reedcleft Harpies. She was given proof of her gift of scrying, proof of her need, and an offer of apprenticeship. Unprecedented, but appreciated even greater for it's surprise and rarity.

But Jake perished in a skirmish, the wilds taking him. And Tailto, despite having achieved what she'd wanted, a pearl of her own, spiraled deep into a depression. And despite Reyson's best efforts. She stayed there.

It would take the combined efforts of her father figure and her mate before she could function fully again.

She thanks her good fortune every morning that Kyda persisted in his wooing. She loves him, she loves their children! It is only through his unyielding support and energy that she has managed to run the clan so well, and so long.

She knows that with his continued support, her long-coming and happily celebrated mastery over her scrying waters, and her adopted father's guidance that they can continue to keep their clan happy and prosperous.

And with her daughter Papilion ever anxious to take more and more weight from Tailto's wearied shoulders, the queen has found herself relaxing more than she has in ages.
