Magnase showed up at Capli's den after apparently trailing Miorya from Fishspine Reef. With shattered gems and a Wind egg, obviously not hers, in tow. Refusing to tell anyone where either of them came from, she harassed the members until Capli, pregnant and desperate for new blood, let her stay.

Magnase is even more haughty than most Pearlcatchers, as she has discovered that she can rip off her gem-like scales and swallow them to create a new pearl. Magnase has a habit of bringing home familiars and hatchlings. The rest of her clan tolerates her egoism because most of the clan growth after her joining is a direct result of her actions.

Magnase is known for being manipulative and rude. She generally sits around being useless, but she is a force to be reckoned with. Her brilliant control of magic makes her a solid fighter in territorial disputes. She's largely in charge of the clan's dealings with the auction house and her recruiting has kept the clan steadily expanding. On top of that, she's taken on being the clan's water representative.

She keeps up a tough wall, and isn't close with anyone but Farfalla and Ryubien. She and Farfalla have a strange relationship, and he eventually accepted her as a mate. She seems to have genuine feeling for him, though they forgive each others' dalliances.
