Morana
Dreamwalker
The night is quiet, and the dragons of the clan sleep. All save the sentry, who droops over their post wishing for their bed, eyes heavy and blank. Nothing is out of place. Then the fog rolls in, thick and heavy, obscuring all vision and weighing down sleeping breaths. The world falls silent, and sleeping minds find their dreams no longer peaceful. Something is lurking; something has come, and in the wake of yesterday's battle, it feels like the vengeful spirits of the slain to any who care to notice. When the sun rises, many of the sleeping will not.
Morana is an inheritor of the Conqueror aspect of the Incarnation. She walks the battlefield, luring the spirits of the dead back to this world to be reborn as dreams and nightmares to plague the thoughts of living dragons. Often she simply gathers restless spirits to her and draws them to the nearest dreaming dragon, intent on invading. It is rare that she actually has to do much coaxing, and she prefers it that way. The dead have a number of powers unavailable to those still wearing their flesh, and Morana is still mortal.
Victims of the spirits she rouses to anger often find themselves trapped in a reenactment of battle, dying at the claws, fangs, or spells of another. Some are able to fight off the dream and wake, others fight against the vision and eventually wake exhausted, but many are overcome and will not see the next dawn. What lives she manages to take this way are fed to the Shade; though she willingly admits to keeping a few for herself. What fun would it be otherwise?
It is said that sometimes she appears in dreams herself, not always as an avatar of death, but as a simple warning of what is to come. Whether that is done purposefully or simply as a side-effect of consorting with the dead is unknown.
