~ The Joining ~

The group of dragons surrounded him. A coatl, an imp, and a sky dancer. Three dragons armed to the teeth with knives and weapons of all sorts. All shapes and sizes. He felt intimidated by the dangerous looking members. He wasn't a dragonet anymore. He wasn't a hatchling. Yet he still felt fear. He looked up, hiding his timidness from the leader as his parents prompted him forwards. They couldn't look after him anymore. He wasn't a hatchling, and they needed the job done. They couldn't pay their debts in time, and he was collateral. He was worthy, valuable, because of his training abilities. Because of his skill. He was to step forth and take up a new job to allow his family to go on without him. He sighed and stood up taller.
"Come along," the imp said in a low and gravelly voice. Takumi tried to squash down his nervousness as he walked forward. He had worked so hard to avoid this situation, bringing his parents all the money his training job brought him, and it still hadn't been enough. Now he was to train in the Windswept Plateau, and to train killers no doubt. The imp turned and he followed behind.

The road was a long one, the journey lengthy. The two escorts walked on either side of him. They didn't pay him any mind. The imp, however, talked to him. As soon as they were out of earshot of his family, their voice softened a small bit.
"I am sorry you had to come along, but business is business," the imperial said first. Takumi scowled a little bit.
"You wanted me. You picked me over all the other trainers," Takumi grouched.
"You showed promise, and we need help," The imperial said, "It's hard to find those with the right promise. All have promise, but you're promises are much more fitting for the job, and much more fitting for you here in the Blackwing Valkyries."
"Why do you call yourselves that? Aren't they female warriors, not males?" Takumi asked, "No offense of course to females, it's just confusing."
"We choose who lives and who dies, and who deserves to be protected and who we should protect others from. That is why we are the Blackwing Valkyries," The imperial answered bluntly, "You see son, the Valkyries were-"
"I know what they are, old man. I've heard the stories. And don't call me son," Takumi cut him off bitterly, not even looking at the imp. The imp sighed quietly through the wraps on his face, covering his features completely, all except his beady eyes. Takumi knew being bitter was meaningless, and would only hurt him more, for this would be his new forever home, but he couldn't help it. He was being torn away from home. A very poor home. A very nasty home, but home. All those hatchlings who wouldn't be trained by him, he would miss them. His sadness took over his anger, replacing it almost entirely. They trudged on.
"What's your name, boy?" The imp asked quietly, and more gentle than before.
"Takumi," he replied, "Takumi Bludburster."
"Well Takumi, I am Mooncaller. Welcome to the Blackwing Valkyries," the imp said, "We will do your best to make you feel at home, and provide all you need and desire as best we can. We are your family now, and we will do our best to care for you even after you settle in. I think you'll like the Plateau. The wind chimes there are quite calming..."
Takumi simply nodded and looked ahead to their destination in the distance. The two on either of his sides backed away as the imp spread his wings and launched into the air. Takumi took one last look at his home before turning back around and launching into the air, the escorts towing behind them in quick-winged pursuit. Little did he know, his bitter future would be much brighter than that in his old home.

Caught me with my pants down. That whale got it though! (Crimson was pulling a good portion of the weight though with all his stunning abilities.)


~ Lucky Findings ~
These dragons have found something very rare and/or very special to us, and so should be rewarded by gaining bragging rights to see who is going to be the luckiest grinder yet!

A rough, porous egg that is covered in barnacles. Bubbles are forming at the cracks and crevices that make up its shell, which is soaked through with seawater.
