Eclipse The False God of the Fallen |
The young veilspun sat in the basement of her mentor's lair, golden eyes gleaming in the darkness of the room as a black-bound book lay open in front of her. A chill went down her spine as she sat there. She was doing something she promised herself she would do for YEARS. She would summon the Lorebreaker's first follower. Summoning the Lorebreaker Herself would have been to difficult a feat for a budding mage, especially for one that was arguably the worst mage in all of Sorneith. Besides, where would she even find that ritual? It was hard enough to find the one she did. No matter, she had found it. One of the most forbidden spells on Sorneith. Right here in the book in front of her. She opened it to the page she sought, following the ritual to the letter, heeding not the warnings before the ritual. After a few minutes, the veilspun sat back at their previous place. The candles were lit around the crimson circle. She was done waiting. She would FINALLY meet someone with power, far more than she or even her mentor that slept upstairs, unaware of what she did in the secluded part of the mansion An excitement buzzed inside her as she quietly chanted the words to the spell, the mirror sitting upright in the center. She knew it would work. After all, power mattered more to her than anything. She held in a chuckle as finally, the mirror shattered. She looked At the center expectantly. But nobody came. But the mirror shattered? It had to have worked! She did everything right! Spoken in a calm voice that- though laced in a fine static- sounded as if it never raised higher than a conversational volume. Yet those three words chilled her to the bone "H-hello? Are y-you The First Follower?" She asked, the presence of the room suddenly causing her wits to fail. She fell into soft, manic giggles as she realized just how well it worked. Now then.... What was her wish? "I have a wish. I wish for power. I wish to live forever. I want to become a GOD in my own right." The entity finally materialized, oddly clad in the humble garb of an advisor. The book hadn't said anything about this! And she felt her heart chill and amber thorns crawl out from under her skin. The veil laughed, now a chilling, cruel sound than the bell-like noise it one was. She was no longer Elia, the lowest of her class and the utter disappointment of anyone she was around. She was Eclipse. And she was a god. |
