Lore:

Arcana never really knew her parents. With them both being powerful warriors, they were often away at battle, leaving Arcana to her own devices for much of her childhood. She never really minded though, because she spent most of her days running through the fields of flowers near her home, playing with the nearby animals, and training the... things she could do. She wasn't really sure what she did, but she knew it was something worth improving at. It mostly manifested itself as small things like little lights in Arcana's hands, or colorful sparks around her head. Sometimes, however, she could do things with more potency, like fixing the wing of a broken butterfly, or making a leaf shift colors. As she practiced, Arcana also noticed that she became different physically. She became more balanced and graceful, as if as she improved at controlling her magical abilities she became more proficient at controlling her physical form. To Arcana, her childhood was one of wonder and vitality. Especially after something that happened one summer day.

"What a wonderful day it is," Arcana muttered in a sing-song voice as she skipped through the fields to her favorite tree atop the hill. She looked down at the tangles of weeds and roots that she used to fall over as a child. Now, it would be like they didn't exist if she didn't purposefully remember them. Once she reached the tree, she sat down under the leaves, resting on her knees as she enjoyed the shade provided by the full canopy of the ancient oak. Then, right as she reached for a white flower she'd been attempting to change rainbow, something appeared in front of her. A sort of rip, or portal from somewhere, throwing Arcana backwards into the tree. Out walked a beautiful woman wearing gold and black. Frozen with both terror and curiosity, Arcana remained pressed against the trunk of the oak as the woman kneeled down and smiled.

"My beautiful granddaughter," the woman said, in a strong but kind voice, "I've watched you from the sidelines for far too long."

After an eternity of a few seconds, Arcana found her voice to reply, "W-who are you? You're my grandma? I-I've never seen you before."

"Ah, yes. I suppose I should introduce myself. My name is Allison. I am indeed your grandmother. I must say, I'm so very impressed and proud of how far you've progressed with your magic all on your own."

It was at this point that Arcana was able to relax a bit and get a good look at this Allison. She was so majestic in a way Arcana couldn't describe. Like a piece of the universe took a human form. There was a sort of warp around her, almost like reality itself didn't want to get in her way. The effect was breathtaking, and hard to comprehend. "Why are you here?" Arcana asked, "Why would you want to come see me?"

"I've watched you grow your whole life," Allison replied, "Waiting for the moment to intervene. Your parents fight a group known as the Organization, but you'll know all about that soon enough. All you need to know for now is that you've gained enough power and skill to start to gain their attention. Because of that, I'm here to take you somewhere far from here. A place where you can learn and grow, but also be well protected. At least until you can do that for yourself."

Arcana sat, overwhelmed for a moment before responding, "But, why would they want me? I like my home here, I don't want to leave. Why haven't you been able to contact me before?"

"I understand you must have a lot of questions, and of course I can't force you to come with me. However, if you choose to stay, you must stop using your abilities, lest the Organization find you. I would not like to see them hurt you."

Arcana sighed, "Ok, I'll come. But can I come back here some day?"

"Of course you can my dear, now are you ready to see my home?"

Arcana grabbed her flower that had fallen to her side, and stood up to grab a full leaf from her tree. Once they were safe in her pocket, she nodded, "Let's go... Grandma."
