and it resides within you:
A compass that brightens

______ Loriith was found by Gizmo shortly after the end of the plague, because of this, the two view each other as family. Loriith as a young hatchling brought much life to Gizmo's lair, and insisted that there had to be some good things in a clan full of bad history and a leader who carried so much on her shoulders.

As a teenager, Gizmo took to teaching Loriith how to lead. At first it was just basic record-keeping, but then other dragons started coming to her for advice. Dragons who were too frightened to contact Gizmo directly went through Loriith instead, and the water dragon never minded. Someone had to help, and it might as well be her.

______ She heartily approved the move back to Gizmo's home flight; Loriith hoped that it would improve the mood of the leader and that more creative tasks would develop from the move as well, instead of tasks fueled by only necessity.

Loriith was overjoyed when Gizmo finally got what she wanted: her home back. Gizmo stopped depending so much on Loriith for emotional support, and gradually the clan started becoming far more light-hearted. That didn't mean that it wasn't a tight ship, but not everything was life-and-death as it was back in Plague.

As Gizmo healed from her past, the two of them eventually became more of a team instead of two separate leaders. The pair would often debate defense strategies or what dragons would be best with certain jobs; Gizmo saw Loriith, her adopted daughter, as an equal now, not as a child training to overtake her.
