Firestar was something of an outcast in her native land of the Wandering Contagion. She had an innate interest in search and rescue work, which both Plague and Wildclaw society rejected, Plague believing in survival of the fittest and Wildclaws believing that strength is everything. Firestar didn't see her interest in search and rescue as being in conflict with Plague or Wildclaw beliefs, though. Even disease will die or fail to thrive without a host! Rescuing others gives them another chance to be strong and contribute to society, Firestar felt. Her ideas weren't very popular.

She was encouraged into low rank roles, such as crafts, but she had little interest in them. Eventually, Firestar set off on her own and took to wandering. Eventually, she found herself in the Southern Icefield, a land where dragons certainly do find themselves lost and in need to rescue. She settled there.

During the Riot of Rot 2013, Firestar opened a strange crate she found in the Coliseum and was transformed into a Dracolich. Now she has to deal with a phylactery and being a powerful undead abomination, but she remains determined to work hard at search and rescue.

She had a one-time dalliance with a firefighter Water dragon named Inferno, but he moved on to another clan.

Flame seems rather interested in Firestar despite, or perhaps because of, her undead status.
