"Born from the darkness, and rose to the light."
It was dark. An understatement to how actually dark it was. Pitch black. I felt like I was swimming... more like floundering as I was helpless. Voices swept over me, as I searched for something I didn't know. Time was nothing, space was nothing. After such a long time, I saw things in the darkness. Lighter shadows piercing the blackness. This went on for goodness knows how long. Or badness. I was drifting in and out of sleep. My sleep was black too. No dreams. Nothing. It was an overwhelming feeling, not knowing whether you were asleep or awake. Maybe I wasn't awake to start with.
After opening my eyes for the hundreth time, I saw light. Light! It blinded me, and I blinked several times. There it was up above me, its rays shining down and touching my body. I saw myself for the first time, I was a dark shade of blue, such a beautiful colour compared to the ever-lasting dark. I arched my wings and stretched them, quivering softly either side of me. How good it felt! I rose them up and down, seeing them glitter and shine in the rays. Darkness was all around me still, threatening to cover up the circle of light that illuminated me. I could see the light shrinking already. Thrusting myself upwards and beating my wings as hard as I could, I rose, knowing that the only way now was up. The light flickered as I stretched my head out towards it, and darkness closed in. With one final push, I thrust myself through it, and the darkness closed over behind me.
She escaped the darkness. But will she surrender to it and let the evil consume her? Hope, love, kindness, peace, empathy would all have been lost to her. Except for one thing. She escaped the clutches of evil. Pray that they won't reclaim her. Pray for her soul.
