Completed Dream Dragon

Victor's final creation and first regret.

The Recreated was finished on a rainy night. An Ancient Prodigium, made from the flesh of the fallen, and pure elemental magic. A new dragon, a new being, almost perfect. But Victor's Magnum Opus was not enough for him. It wasn't enough. Instead of the beautiful being he wanted, he moulded a translucent, abyssal thing. Panicked and angered and saddened, Victor ran.

The Recreated never forgot. With his four eyes, he saw Victor run. He trusted him. Abandoned and loathed by Beastclan and Dragons alike, the Recreated was rejected by all those he came to love. Vengeful, he vowed to make Victor suffer for abandoning him. Soon, his creator would learn what it was like to be hated, feared, and alone. He would take everything Victor loved, until it would only be creator and his creation.

The Recreated had succeeded. Victor, hated and vengeful, vowed to follow the Recreated to the ends of the world. There, he would fix his mistake, and be embraced by death. The wretched Prodigium embraced this, having finally piqued the attention of his maker. They hunted each other across Sornieth. Creator and creation an Ouroboros, pumping venom into its own body. Soon, they would meet again, Victor half-dead and the Recreated remorseful. In another world, another tragedy, Victor would die and the Recreated would destroy himself. But the world had been vastly changed. It was different. The story would not end that way.

The world had been Recreated and Reawakened, and it would not go back.

“I was benevolent and good; misery made me a fiend.
~Mary Shelley, Frankenstein

"Did I request thee, Maker, from my clay
To mould me Man, did I solicit thee
From darkness to promote me?"

~John Milton, Paradise Lost
