Biography

Hn. This is ShadowStrike..The beginning and the end. He searched the vast reaches of the Frigid Floes, looking for a place to begin, like all who are created. He set out with nothing but a claim to his name. Over time, he changed and grew, both mentally and physically. He acquired a taste for battle, and trained to one day defend his lair from any foe that so dared attack it. The scar that lies across his left eye is a testament to the fierce wars he has endured. He acquired armor, smithed with magic. His lair is comprised of many breeds, both large and small. He has watched over many offspring in his lifetime, most being sent to find another place to call home, or being selected by the mighty IceWarden himself to serve in his fortress.

”He blinked into existence, old yet new. Slowly, he observed his surroundings. White falling and lying everywhere. He felt them land on his skin and was what he would later determine as the feeling of cold. He felt. He looked to a sheet of ice and marveled at what he saw. A scaled beast stood before him, tall in grandeur and predatory by nature. He watched as the very color of its skin changed again and again, until it paused at black; dark as the cool rock that lies beneath the fiery flow of magma within the center of the world. The great creature's wings changed too, becoming the shade of water in a tropical ocean. Its piercing eyes were white, regarding him with cool demeanor. He reached forward to touch the being, only to have a claw come into his line of vision. He observed this, and then truly saw himself; he was the black drake reflected in the ice.

He turned to meet the hazel gaze of a creature he was not familiar with. She seemed rather pleased with herself, and muttered that she had created a dragon that was her image of perfection. The dragon in question puffed at the comment, his boost in ego evident. The Keeper looked to him once more, and dubbed him ShadowStrike. She explained to him all she knew about his world. He learned about The Eleven and their flights, as well as that he was born into the flight of the frosty Icewarden himself. He learned that there were many other dragons, both progenitors and those of newer generations, and that there were even more Keepers like her. She told him that it was his duty to establish a new lair and create a clan that would honor the Lord of the Ice. She then patted one of his forelegs sadly... She explained that this was not her true home, just an escape for a few hours each day. She could not stay here permanently, as her destiny took her many places outside the realm of dragons. ShadowStrike absorbed all of this, and then rose proudly as he declared to her that he would create a strong clan, one that both she and the Icewarden would deem worthy. She laughed and said that she had expected as much. She spent the darkest hours of the night with her new friend, until at long last her world beckoned to her. She planted a kiss on the crest of her sleeping companion and left even as the stars shone brightly above her.

And ShadowStrike felt love.”
