Across Sornieth, the Rowan Traders wander, peddling their wares. They keep no schedule and are beholden to no one; arriving on a fine spring morning to set up their wagon on the green and smile at passers-by. They laugh and tell jokes to children; they sell candies and toys, potions and recipes, books and foods brought from far off places. Perhaps they stay for a day, a week, a month; but regardless the length of their visit, they’ll disappear like the mists, burned away by the sun and memories of them fade the same way until it’s no longer clear if they were ever there to begin with.

Travel rations are absolutely disgusting. Nobody enjoys going on holiday knowing that they’ll be subject to the bland-at-best, vile-at-worst meals that are the only things convenient enough to store on the road. Or perhaps you’re not going anywhere, perhaps you just wish you could try some exotic cuisine from the depths of the Sea, from the gloomy heart of the Labyrinth, from the frigid climes of the Icefield. That’s understandable. So why not let Saahmar help you out?

For the adventurous traveller, her slurries are to die for; they may not look like much – a colourful paste kept sealed in little glass vials – but they are delightful meals in flavour. A full feast in some cases! They’re the only way to get a three-course meal out on the dunes of the Expanse, so why not stock up? They’re so cheap, a fabulous deal.

And if you’re fortunate enough to have the Rowan Traders as guests in your lair, Saahmar offers an exquisite catering service. Her prices are so reasonable. Too reasonable for the quality of her goods. So don’t ask what she makes her food from. Don’t ask where she sources her ingredients. Don’t ask. Don’t ask. Just accept her smiling face and take a bite. It tastes delicious. It’s not made of ash and bonedust and insect legs.

ORIGIN / Literally no one knows where the merchants came from, all three of them answer differently any time they're asked. Wherever they're from, it's probably not anywhere nice. A clan of scammers most likely.

Fact / Take this vial and drink the contents. You won't get hungry for the next week, it tastes slightly of whatever you'd rather be eating but is ten times better at satisfying hunger. Do not ask what's in it.

Likes / A real food snob, Saahmar won't eat something unless it's immaculately prepared gourmet stuff. Weird, considering her own cooking is generally not five-star in appearance, but woe be upon whichever fool thinks to try and feed her something made from left overs. Saahmar knows good food. Don't try and trick her. She's also a fan of theatres and other performing arts. And firework displays. She just likes a good time.

Dislikes / Sand, by the Windsinger, that stuff gets everywhere. It ends up in her clothes, her ingredients, her mouth. Blech. Doesn't like when it's too hot, doesn't like rugging up when it's too cold. She is incredibly picky. Saahmar can whine about anything. And she's got a short, fiery temper, so watch out for that.

Interests / Cooking! She enjoys baking and preparing elaborate meals for her friends and family. The meals she makes for herself might seem better than the ones she sells to customers, but that's just because those ones are intended to be kept for travelling. Obviously. Saahmar is extremely discerning in her ingredient selection no matter who will be eating it, she absolutely does not grab whatever's closest, stuff it in a jar and shake it violently when making food for customers. Absolutely not. That would be terrible service.
