Many years ago, when dragons were a new species wandering Sornieth, there was one of the many of Shadowbinder's recent at the time creation, Veilspuns, and one known as Opal was the epitome of a shadow dragon. She was elegant and bore shadow primal eyes, a sign of great fortune and favour from the Shadowbinder herself. It seemed like she was promised for great things, until the magic accident. While visiting some dragons in plague, a huge fight broke out, it was mass chaos. During it all, Opal was struck, being assumed an enemy by both sides, while trying to flee from the battle. The combination of the magic that hit her and the plague goop she got knocked into, stuck for hours trying to get out while transforming into what she looks like today. When the battle was over, Opal seemingly dissapeared, assumed to be one of the many casualties that were missing. The reality is that Opal had seen her sudden transformation as a way to escape, for she had felt pressured by being a Veil blessed by the Shadowbinder. She spent many years after, her life indefinitely extended from the accident, she now became the equivalent of her clan's grandmother. Old as heck with a ton of wisdom and will fistfight someone.

Grandma Opal don't care. Grandma Opal is too old to give a flying harp about petty things. Opal is the person you would go to if you wanted a second opinion or advice, or sometimes even knowledge as she is quite old. She spends her days knitting and rocking in her old chair in front of her house, being a nosy gossip. She would make a good spy if she wasn't such an old coot. Grandma Opal has a mischievous streak though as she is known for pulling dragon's legs, teasing them, all in good fun where she and the dragon she is teasing can laugh.
