"The dead tell many tales...care to listen?"
Spirit...that's what they are. Honestly Skink refers to them as 'shade', giving the rest of the dragons in the clan a terrifying hint towards what Spirit really is. They hide whenever Arcanist comes to visit Skink, yet they still seem to have quite the interest in them. Spirit smells....quite bad at times, and Avalanche is...quite interested in the little Banescale, often happily perching them on her snout, which seems to bring joy to the both of them. Skink...has straight up called Spirit undead, telling whoever will listen that Spirit is simply a Banescale that was possessed by a harmless bit of The Shade, and that it's nothing to worry about.
Spirit's powers seem to be quite limited, other than being immune to the powers of the other creatures of the clan. Verbatim seems to want the little Banescale to just go away, the two often getting in to hissing matches until someone comes to the small Bane's rescue-often Avalanche wanting to rescue her little friend. Once, Spirit...did manage to copy Xavi's distortion powers, using it to drive Verbatim back when they were too exhausted to get in to a hissing match with the much bigger nocturne. Other than that though, the Bane has shown no signs of their own powers.
