Biography

A Planet

A small planet in an unknown corner of the universe. People lived there happily with abundance of food and resources. The fertile land nourished its people and their number grew and grew. Great civilizations raised up all over the lands, bustled with lives. At the time it had seemed these kingdoms would never fall.

Then it came the great drought. Lands dried up all over the planet. Earth cracked and hardened and nothing grew anymore. People were in desperate search for water and had dug wells deep into the crust in futile. These diggings had also disturbed the fault lines of the land and triggered massive earthquakes. Buildings tumbled and cities crumbled to dust. Many died and the rest scattered.

Those who survived had to fight over those scarce resources their lands still hold, and wars erupted everywhere. These feuds further damaged their poor lands, created holes and fissures across the world. Sandstorms and terrible earthquakes became the norm. Just as they thought things can't get any worse, came the Great Flood. It came with such force that flooded every corner of the planet, leaving no speck of earth unsubmerged. Only a handful of those who survived the first waves of disaster went underground and narrowly escaped the Great Flood. Many years and generations had passed, these denizen had struggled to adapt to the underground life but they cling on. They had lost all their pride and knowledge of the old civilizations. Survival is the only thing on their minds now. And even that is proved to be such luxury many couldn't grasp.

Several brave souls had went out to the surface after the Great Flood eased. What they saw was that the once green and fertile lands had turned bare. The last thin layers of good soils had been washed away by the flood, exposing the grey-ish brown rock underneath. Canyons carved deeply into the surface of the planet that are either as dried as bones, or filled with poisonous water. It is no longer a planet suitable for lives, but where can they go? This now inhabitable place was and still is their home, and all they can do now is survive, and wait for everything to end in despair.

A Dragon

Damn these cursed fleas! Chu couldn't remember when it all started, nor can she remember where she got them from. Just as she realized she had fleas they were already thriving on her skins. Last time she checked with a magnifying glass, she could've swore she saw buildings and roads built by these blasted creatures on HER!

She spent hours each day just scratching herself, to a point where she almost shredded her own skin, but the itchiness was hard to get rid of. How can she get rid of these pests? She wasn't very wise and she lived on instinct most of her life, so she didn't really know what to do. Well, she knew one thing - they suck blood and caused pus on her skins here and there. Maybe she can dry them out or something? Make her skin tougher for them to suck. She travelled to Shattered Plain and away from water sources. She even had sand bath every now and then. That seemed to calm the itchiness down a little.

But it didn't solve the whole problem. There were still enough fleas remained to cause her grief. She thought maybe she can drown them instead, so she travelled to Tsunami Flats to see if she can have a long bath. The water dragons there were kind enough to suggest that instead of a short bath, she might instead like to stay underwater for a while, have a tour around and such, to make sure any remaining fleas got drowned out for sure. Chu thought that was a wonderful suggestion, so the water kin lent her some magical devices that can provide her with constant air supply and waved her a nice stay as she dive.

It surely was wonderful. She felt her skin stopped itching for the first time in many moons, and the underwater view was spectacular. She even made some friends with the local clans and seriously considering moving to the Sea of A Thousand Currents for good. She decided she'll think about it and make the decision later. One of the local herbalist gave her some lotions to apply to her skin daily, and said it'll sooth the skin while being poisonous to the fleas. She treasured the gift and used it often, and the fleas hadn't bothered her ever since. She made a mental note to visit the herbalist again and get some more in the near future.
