Blue Mahoe is one of very few woods with an overall gray heartwood appearance (in its fresh and unweathered state), and perhaps the only commercially available wood that can exhibit a bluish hue.
The Cane

A weird grey, specially crafted cane with a bluish grey wood and a skillfully crafted wolf topper and the bottom of the cane is sculpted to look like the wolf's tail. The entire sides are a stylistic craftsmanship of runic markings and visible claws of the wolf.

In Umbra's possession but it doesn't not belong to her. The Cane...Mahoe is calling out to another witch but this being has yet to enter the clan or the area. Soon she will be drawn to the cane.
Umbra is not sure what the cane's intents are; whether it is good or evil, but continues to study it to learn more before she is willing to hand the staff over.

What is learned for certain from the notes Umbra has gathered - those who have been in possession of the can have mysteriously disappear and a bloodstain is seen all over the wolf carving. She isn't certain if it's because the cane is calling out to a particular user and destroyed anyone who wasn't it's rightful master OR if it's calling out to the next potential victim.
