Biography
Galbatroix
;; laughter can be a sharp blade
Galbatroix didn't want this life. He left the lands of his birth much like all Wind dragons do, curling through the air with laughter on his tongue and dreams in his lungs. But as he traveled the wide expanse of Sornieth, he fell. Not from the sky, but in love. He was lost the moment he laid eyes on Ollphéist during a foray into the Tangled Wood. Galbatroix was hopelessly in love, but try as he might, he never seemed to be able to attract the attentions of Ollphéist. Late one night, however, during a new moon, with only the light of the stars in the heavens to guide him, Galbatroix came to the place where the wildclaw sat near the edge of the wood and sang him the most heart-wrenching love ballad. Touched, Ollphéist thanked the spiral for the song, but gently told him that it was no use; he could not share those feelings for reasons he could not fully explain. Heartbroken, Galbatroix flew blindly into the Scarred Wasteland, where he was attacked by ravenous beasts and starving dragons. Barely escaping with his life, he tried to flee the wastes, only to be intercepted by one of Renfeld's guards and was dragged before Aramastrius. Galbatroix, still nursing his wounded heart, said he had no fear of dying; he was already dead, in his eyes. Amused, Aramastrius suggested a different path, if that was the case. Galbatroix was the last Revenant to be turned, and though now he knows why it is that Ollphéist initially did not return his affections, he knows he can never go back. Now he tries to make the most of his current situation, coping mostly with humor. For now he truly is a prisoner of fate, unable to leave his master's side unless ordered to, and thus unable to go and speak to the one who turned him down this path in the first place. Whether Ollphéist knows of Galbatroix's fate or not remains to be seen... |
Tread carefully, now, little child
For their claws are sharp And their fangs are wild Hungry, angry, dark and deep They all come out While you're asleep |
