Vykthrys

Born in the darkest tangles of the Viridian Labyrinth, Vykthrys knew it was destined for greater things. While its fellow Nature dragons ran wild through the undergrowth, content amongst the endless green, Vykthrys ventured further and further away from the land of its birth. Before long, it had left the Labyrinth entirely, engulfed in the darker, more dangerous Tangled Wood. But even here the young dragon found no sense of belonging. In its mind, like a summons, it felt the need to continue pushing forward. Ever forward. And so Vykthrys followed the call, eventually leaving even the Tangled Wood behind and finding itself on the edge of the vast, pestilent expanse of the Scarred Wasteland. Home, it decided, is where the rot is. For some time it lived in the Abiding Boneyard, but the wastes are cruel to a lone dragon, and in time, Vykthrys was forced to move further into the decaying landscape to keep ahead of those unseen beasts that hunted it. It did not mind, however; it had never felt so alive. Vykthrys kept up the adventure with reckless abandon, and stumbled upon the Dread Decay quite by accident. Intrigued by a dragon that looked so much like himself, Aramastrius brought it before his master. Sensing Vykthrys' potential, Renfeld allowed it to be turned and brought into the fold. Fully embracing its new life as a Revenant, Vykthrys has at last found the place where it belonged. It finds great joy in defending its master's territory and hunting down any who oppose him. Vykthrys is known across the wastes as one of the cruelest of its master's followers, and this is a trait it holds proudly. The Revenants, after all, are truly its family. |
