Biography

From a young age, Grimm was a dragon with big ambitions. Watching his fellow Lightning clan members work tirelessly to produce the most advanced of technology in Sornieth, it filled him with a powerful spark to chip in, hoping that one day, his efforts would help create a paradise for all dragons. If only his child self knew of the constant strife among the clans of this world...

But even as he learned more about the ways of the world, he clung onto his idealistic goals and happily assisted in the construction of generators among his home of Goldensparc. That was until one day, in his adolescent years, he witnessed a dear friend of his fall into a generator and never come back alive. The Skydancer was certainly no stranger to accidents- this was the Lightning flight after all- but none have affected him as much as this particular incident. Before then, he had only heard of dragons being electrocuted to death, crushed by collapsing infrastructure, falling into generators, and other lethal accidents. But now, he had finally seen one with his own eyes, and now he fully realized the devastating impact events like these had brought. After that, he shut his heart and hands away from the world around him, until eventually.... He left.

For several months, Grimm had no place to call home. His goal was to make it to the Windswept Plateau and find a quiet place to study the elements, but the journey through the Ashfall Wastes proved to be much more treacherous than he could have ever anticipated. The terrain was dangerous, the air full of toxic gases, and the clans of fire offered little help to this scholarly vagrant. During the few moments of respite he got, he'd study what he could, particularly the Arcane flight, which he had been developing a fascination. In fact, he even considered extending his travels to the Starfall Isles, though he ultimately stuck to his initial goal.

At least, until he had a chance encounter.

It was an unusually windy day in the Plateau, and while studying further into the history of the Arcane flight, a dragon had crashed into his ramshackle settlement. The damage was minimal, as the dragon in question was a Fae, but Grimm was upset with them nonetheless, as some of their papers got scattered throughout the land. The Fae-an Arcane one by the name of Reishi- helped the mage recover these papers despite his difficulty with flying, and they would part ways once finished gathering everything up. While Grimm was grateful for Reishi's help, he wasn't very enthusiastic to see the smaller dragon return a couple of days later, until he saw the friend they brought, anyways. They were an unusual Tundra, one with pink crystals etched into their very body. It turns out this unusual dragon was Morganite, the leader of a recently-formed clan between her and Reishi, and that he returned to offer Grimm a spot in their clan. Wanting to study Morganite's condition further, he immediately accepted the proposal.

Even after all these years, Grimm never let go of his dream of a utopia for all dragons to live in. Only now, he wasn't looking towards maximizing energy output that could spread to the other flights: He wanted to create an entire new realm, one without strife, one with unlimited resources and space, and most importantly, one all dragons could live peacefully together in. Despite his best efforts to keep his distance from the others, his leader overheard his voiced thoughts and became hooked. Soon she and the rest of the clan adopted his goals, something he wasn't particularly thrilled with initially, but would later grow to accept it.

Now, he serves as the clan's second-in-command, their main tactician, and the creator and manager of the rift that connects to other worlds.
