Discipline. Loyalty. Honor. These are the virtues of a knight, and Gregory takes great pride in adhering to all of them. As the chief knight of Katalin’s court, it is his duty to ensure the safety and well-being of duchess and castle. His devotion is deep, and he would not hesitate a moment to give his life for her. Gregory was born in the duchess’ territory and from young age on trained in the ways of a knight. His father, a knight in the duchess’ services himself, took great pride in his son excelling in not only fighting but also strategy. Pushed and pressured in his education, Gregory did not allow himself to do anything but succeed… and that he did. He joined the ranks of Katalin’s knights, quickly gaining her favor with his sharp mind and innate calm. Gregory never hesitated to carry out any of her orders, for the only moral he has is to follow his mistress without objections. Eventually, Katalin decided to test his loyalty. In exchange for the position of her head knight, Gregory was tasked to kill his own father, who was holding the position at that time. When Gregory followed the order, Katalin made true to her promise and gave him his father’s post. From that day on, Gregory spent almost every waking hour at the duchess’ side. He protects her, gives advice when needed, and challenges her wits with games of chess. Of course he knows well to not beat her in her game, as the consequences could be dire. Despite Katalin’s fickle temper, Gregory was daring enough to court her when he fell for her. He sent merchants to the farthest realms, tasking them to bring back jewelry and treasures from all over the world. Katalin showed herself impressed, and Gregory became her lover. When the duchess has no need of him, Gregory oversees the dungeons below the castle. He rules them with a strict hand, all the knights under his command. Many call him cold and heartless, but Gregory does not care about any such accusations. His loyalty is clear, his heart devoted to Katalin. Not even Shivang, his right hand, can change that, no matter how hard she tries.
