Biography

Chantico

Uh-oh, looks like this fiery coatl wandered a little too far from her lair (#48496, TragicallyBad), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread here.

Chantico thought that she would be content in her birth lair with her parents and her mate, but taking it easy in the Viridian Labyrinth just wasn't for her. She was eager to stretch her wings and see what there was to see!

Chantico first made her way to the homeland of her breed, but despite her bright feathers, she didn't feel at home in Seer's Ridge. Maybe it was because there wasn't anyone whose coloring matched her own. Hm.... she might have to travel some more to find that.

After stumbling into the Wandering Contagion, Chantico came across a rather friendly clan, despite the name being DreamEvil. There she enjoyed sharing her stories with the young hatchlings. Inspired by her stories, a young red and blue hatchling wanted to experience it for himself. Chantico decided to take the little one with her on her journey and so they moved on.

The Winds above the Windswept Plateau carried the two far south, where the air was rough and cold and the land beneath them was covered with snow. They reached the Snowsquall Tundra and found a clan of dragons that looked like the sun was coloring their fur and scales. The two dragons decided to stay for a little while until they felt as if they could continue their journey.

This time, Chantico wanted to see something different and new. While she hadn't even planned where to go, the winds did. They decided Dragonhome for her. It was barren, only filled with life for those who dared to seek. Chantico rested a few days and even found another clan where she was warmly welcomed, but she soon continued on.

She moved on and found herself in the Everbloom Gardens - while she loved the colorful flowers, which were as vibrant as her feathers, the clan that took her in didn't have any Coatls. She found it difficult to communicate with other clan members, so it wasn't long before she decided to continue her journey.

Chantico found her next stay to be a bit... gloomy. She had traveled to the Whispwillow Grove where the shadow clan she stayed with talked about nothing except their great deity and how they were to repay the debt they owe. Whatever that means... the only dragon here she found interesting was a brightly colored skydancer who looked like he really didn't belong. Too bad he couldn't understand her, she would have loved to at least know his name. It wasn't long before she left again to find more entertaining company.

Chantico then stayed for a while in the Lightning Carrion Canyon. She became close friends with another Coatl, Lasairfhiona, who could have been her sister, they looked so alike! She enjoyed having someone to talk to after spending so much time in lairs with no other Coatls. She spent a few weeks there, and was sad to leave her new friend, but they promised to try to see each other again some day.

After a long time away from home, Chantico returned to her lair of birth. Her mother and father were delighted to see her again, and the many friends she had left behind eagerly filled her in on everything she had missed. Before setting off again, she met a young guardian named Sezanne who was determined to see the world herself. Pleased by the prospect of having a traveling companion for a time, Chantico offered to join Sezanne on the next leg of her journey. Chantico's parents sent their wayward daughter off with a necklace, arm silks, and a maned rasa for companionship.

Chantico ended up once again in the Wispwillow Grove, but this time, she was ready for the strange chatter of the Shadow dragons... Much to her surprise, this particular clan was a mixed bag of all sorts of travellers - Light dragons with colors that cut through the darkness, dragons that looked more like trees than the surrounding forest; baby Nocturnes learning of the Shadow Mother for the first time. She was immediately met with excitement by the other brightly-colored Coatls that happened to reside there, who did not hesitate to present her with a Sunrise Hibiscus to match her beautiful coat. While in the shadowy woods, she met up with another traveller who proved herself to be a most loyal companion (and friend). Where would they end up next?

She and her friend, Florida, met up with a traveling clan from the wind domain, who were on their way through the Tangled Wood. They walked with them for several weeks, until Florida, frustrated by the slow place, took wing for parts unknown. Chantico placidly continued on with the Windrovers until their clan herbalist announced that she was breaking off to head into the Viridian Labyrinth, and taking a young spiral named Strato - another newcomer to the clan - with her. Ready for a change of pace from the dark, close forest of the Shadowcaller, Chantico decided to join them, and set her nose once again toward the land of her birth.
